Eurythms, 2023
upcycled paper offcuts, thread, dimensions variable.
Eurythms is the first installation in a developing body of interdisciplinary work which cite the artist's childhood living in a culturally-closed Anthroposophic community. Using Eurythmy, a curative movement art often prescribed medicinally in Anthroposophic medicine as subject matter, Mikell wrestles with the complicated tenderness she feels for a valued practice from her youth, often prescribed to treat physical and intellectual disabilities.
consistent with Mikell’s practice, this piece is composed entirely of repurposed materials diverted from cycles of disuse, in an effort to mitigate industry waste. As a result, slight imperfections on surfaces are to be expected. Please contact the artist with further enquiries about production.
